August was a good month for us and the last full month we have as a family of 4. Baby #3 will be arriving in September!

In August we didn’t have anything major happen, just a lot of regular life and some little adventures thrown in.
August in Numbers
Here is a look at our August in numbers of course!
1 Day at Knoebels
We started out the month of August by going and spending part of a day at Knoebels. Even though we had to wear masks we had a fun day going on rides and enjoying some of our favorite Knoebels treats.

1 Trip to the Beach
August was a hot month here in Maryland so we decided to take a drive and spend the day at the beach. We have really missed the beach since moving back to Maryland from Florida.
Last year we went to the beach 1-2 times a week. Sometimes even more often! This was our first trip to the beach this summer.
We did go to the coast in Oregon in June which was a lot of fun, but different than our usual beach days.

10+ Hours Swimming
Our pool finally opened for the summer with limited capacity so we spent as much time as we possibly could at the pool since it was only open for a month.
We all loved playing in the pool and the kids are getting so much braver and getting better and better at swimming.
4 Weeks of Growing Baby
Just as in past months the baby and the baby bump grew and grew in August. We kept up with our weekly pregnancy updates (you should be impressed, I know I am!).

Honestly, it’s been a lot of fun taking these weekly photos and I wish I would have been better at taking photos during my other pregnancies.
I will say that the apps that tell you baby size can be so crazy. The sizing sometimes makes no sense. One of the weeks we took a picture and depending on which app/website we looked at the baby was the size of a pineapple, a head of lettuce, and a carton of ice cream.

1 Official Start to the School Year
Mid August we officially started our school year. We are homeschooling and loving it so far. We have a kindergartner and a preschooler that are both learning so many things.
1 Paper Countdown Chain
When the kids started asking multiple times a day how many more days until baby comes we decided it was time to make a countdown.

The kids loved putting together the paper countdown chain and now when they ask how many more days we have them go count (it’s a great math activity!)
1 Trip to Hershey’s Chocolate World
The kids have been asking to go on the chocolate ride at Hershey’s Chocolate World since March so we finally made a trip.
We had to get a free timed ticket to get on the property, but overall had a great experience. There weren’t many people there so the line for the tour ride was really short and the kids got to pick some yummy chocolate treats to bring home.

100’s of stories read
The kids love it when we read stories and each month I’m sure we read at least 100 stories (In September we are going to keep track!)
I read to the kids during the day and each night before going to sleep Jared reads to the kids. They have special 5-minute stories that they read with Dad.

1 New Bunk Bed
In July we made a deal with our kids that if they would sleep in their room for a month we would get a bunk bed. They did an awesome job sleeping in their own beds so we got a bunk bed.
We had a fun night building the bunk bed together and now not only is it a fun bed to sleep in the kids love playing on the bunk bed and making forts on it.

1 Train Ride
The kids did a summer reading program and each earned a free ticket for a train ride. So we spent a Saturday riding a historic train through farm country.
1,111 Photos Taken
As you can tell from these monthly updates I like taking photos and typically take between 1,000-2,000 photos each month.
Now I just need to get better at printing out the photos so we can enjoy them not just have them on my computer.
