10 Places You Should Visit This Year

As you can probably guess our family loves to travel and though it seems that we visit the same places frequently we also try to visit new places as often as we can.

Today I want to share with you a few places you just might want to add to your bucket list this year.

These are all places we have visited in the past couple of years and can’t wait to go and explore again.

#1 Knoebels

Knoebels is a Free Admission amusement park in Elysburg, PA. The park is open during the summer and has rides and activities for all ages. Plus they have two different campgrounds where you can stay to make a weekend of your trip. Find out more about Visiting Knoebels here.

#2 The C & O Canal

The C & O Canal is a 184.5 mile long Canal and towpath stretching from Georgetown in Washington DC to Cumberland in Western Maryland. Most areas of the canal are free to explore. The path is great for walking on or taking a bike ride. Find 10 Reasons You Should Explore the C&O Canal here.

#3 Disney

We have been lucky enough to visit both Disneyland in California and Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Florida. Both of these parks really bring out the magic in life. Taking your kids to Disney is something that you might want to start saving for, I know it can be expensive but you really will have memories you will treasure from the trip. #4 San Diego

#5 Washington DC

For the past 5 years we have lived within driving distance of Washington DC and it makes for great family day trips. There are so many free things to do in DC it’s definitely a budget friendly travel destination.

#6 Hershey

Hershey, PA is also known as the sweetest place on earth as you drive into town you can smell the chocolate the community has become famous for. When visiting Hershey a trip would not be complete without a stop at Hershey’s Chocolate World. During the summer your family can also enjoy a fun day at Hershey Park.

#7 New York City

#8 Assateague Island

Who hasn’t dreamed of visiting beautiful white beaches? Well Assateague Island, Maryland not only has beautiful white beaches it also boasts wild horses. A visit to Assateague Island is definitely something that needs to make it on your bucket list.

Fort McHenry located in Baltimore is the site of the Fort that inspired Francis Scott Key's writing of the Star Spangled Banner.

#9 Fort McHenry

Fort McHenry National National Monument and Historic Shrine is located in Baltimore Maryland and is the birthplace of The Star – Spangled Banner.

It’s a great place to learn about some of our nation’s history as well as being a beautiful place to visit with a historic fort located right on the bay.

#10 Legoland

There are a two Legoland locations currently open one in California and one in Florida. A third location will soon be opening in New York for even more Lego Fun!

Legoland is the perfect theme park for families with young kids. Many of the rides allow riders of all heights. Here are the details of our visit to Legoland Florida with our toddler a couple of years ago.
